I don't think this is a bad book, but I wouldn't recommend to anyone other than a Pfophet interested about this theme Their various paths to Islam - sometimes direct, sometimes long and tortuous, their devotion to the noble Prophet, their endeavours in peace time and their exploits This book highlights aspects of the lives of thirty Companions of the Prophet, some famous, others almost completely unknown. Ishrat rated it it was amazing Dec 30, The first theme is that the people who surrounded the Prophet saw were people who worked VERY hard for the cause of Islam.
I read it as I sat in the Prophet's mosque in Madinah.
Their various paths to Islam - sometimes direct, sometimes long and tortuous, their devotion to the noble Prophet, their endeavours in peace time and their exploits in war - all serve to cast them in a heroic mould.
